MARK Smith showed he hasn’t lost his eye for goal after setting Inverurie Locos on course to victory over Lossiemouth.

The attacking midfielder was making his first appearance of the season after laser eye surgery just three weeks ago.

Smith was expected to spend longer on the sidelines, but returned to action in style by scoring a thumping drive in the 51st minute.

Smith has now set his sights on playing against his former club, Deveronvale, in a battle of two title challengers on Saturday.

He said: “Maybe I should have missed a couple more games, but it was too boring just watching – so I came back for this one.

“I was told to take six to eight weeks off.

But then they said it was up to myself, so I just decided to play.”
