Jerel joins Aberdeen FC to face Celtic
Two-year deal for defender
Published:
ABERDEEN FC today signed centre-back Jerel Ifil on a two-year deal.
Swindon terminated the final year of Ifil’s contract, allowing Aberdeen FC to snap up the defender on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old passed a medical at Pittodrie and is set to be in Aberdeen FC boss Mark McGhee’s squad to face Celtic in Saturday’s SPL opener at Pittodrie.
Swindon boss Danny Wilson said: “We wish Jerel all the best and his first game for Aberdeen FC will be against Celtic.
“That is not a bad game to go in to.”

I went to the game on Sunday and was Quite impressed by him. Just hope he wasnt playing for a contract as he impressed at Watford a few years ago then went off of the boil. Maybe hasnt done it at Swindon as he maybe thinks he is better than that league. But I was impressed and I hope he keeps it up and kicks Maloney up in the air.

Yeah its great to finally get another defender in, though i wish this 'Diamond going to Charlton' talk would die down. He needs to stay and needs to be captain!!!

the revolution has finally begun.... Mixed reactions to him from Swindon fans but most agree on his day he is quality. He's just prone to the odd howler now and again and has some passing issues shall we say. Personally though I think it could be a good bit of business for us as he has a lot of experience to help the younger guys we have at the back through the games. With a bit of luck Andrew the Charlton thing will drag out until the deadline for signings passes, they cant do anything until this takeover is finalised one way or the other. I also dont think Diamond would want to go to them, I always got the impression he wants to test himself at the highest level and wasting away in league one isnt really the way to do that IMO.
