A NEW era has dawned at Crombie Park as Culter embarked on their first campaign for nearly a decade without Bobby Gray in charge.

Former assistants Gary Thow and Andy Gibson have replaced Gray, who quit at the end of last season, and the new management team couldn’t have asked for a better start, thrashing New Elgin 8-0 in the Grill League Cup.

Thow said: “It was a fresh start for everyone involved so we are happy with that.

“It was good for the guys to get a game under their belts as we only had two pre-season games due to a postponement.

“There’s obviously been a lot of change at the club during the summer and the attitude of the players during pre-season has been good.

“There seems to be a bit of a buzz around the place again.

“Bobby said before he left that he was rebuilding the team and we are happy with the players we have brought in to strengthen the squad.”
