Fu Kwai: Summerhill Court, Aberdeen

WHEN it has been one of those weeks at work and you just can’t be bothered cooking, a take away is the only option.

Having noticed Fu Kwai on the way home I decided to give it a go.

And that decision was rewarded straight away with our lovely hot platter starter (£4.80). The massive pancake rolls were packed full of prawns, pork, chicken and veg and had a lovely crisp taste. And the rest of the platter – barbecue spare ribs, crispy wanton and king prawn in batter – was equally impressive.

Fancying a change, I went for the special chow mein (£5.80) for my main course. Packed with meat and copious amounts of veg, the dish was perfect apart from the somewhat gloopy sauce.

My fiancee went for the shredded beef with chilli and egg fried rice (£6). The beef was nice and tender and the sauce had that kick she was looking for.

The total came to a very reasonable £16.60.
