The Old School House: Little Belmont Street, Aberdeen

ONE of my pre-night out rituals is to have a good meal before I paint the town red.
And The Old School House, slap bang in the centre of town, is ideal for a nice meal to “line the stomach”.
Seeing as it was the weekend, I decided to throw caution to the wind and ditch the healthy options.
I went for a veggie burger (£5.89) which came with chips and a side salad.
The golden brown chips were just as they should be while the salad was fresh, and there was plenty of it.
The only gripe was that the veggie burger was too greasy, and had been deep-fried.
My friend ordered macaroni (£5.99) which arrived steaming hot with melted cheese bubbling on top.
The succulent pieces of pasta were smothered in a creamy cheese sauce, and the dish was quickly polished off, with Susan giving it a resounding thumbs up.
We also plumped for an extra portion of chips (£1.49) although we struggled to make any real dent in the overflowing bowl.
Relaxing in the friendly atmosphere I washed it down with chilled pint of Stella (£3.02), and designated driver Susan stuck to a diet Coke (£1.55).
The bill came in at a reasonable £17.94 and set us up a treat for a night on the tiles.
