A PUBLIC memorial will be held to mourn Michael Jackson at the venue of the singer’s final rehearsals, it was announced.
AEG Live, the promoter of Michael Jackson’s planned series of London concerts, said fans could gather at the Staples Centre, in Los Angeles, on Tuesday.
Jackson rehearsed at the venue two days before he died from a suspected cardiac arrest.
Meanwhile, a US judge delayed a guardianship hearing for Jackson’s children until July 13.
The ruling was made at the request of lawyers acting for the singer’s mother and his ex-wife, Deborah Rowe.
Lawyer Eric M George said Ms Rowe had not decided whether to seek custody of the two children she had with Jackson.
Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, will retain guardianship of the children until the hearing.
The news comes as footage of Jackson’s last performance was released. The star reportedly performed a 90-minute rehearsal for his 02 concert at the Staples Centre on June 23 – two days before he died.
