TEN people have so far been arrested in police raids which have seized £17,000 of illegal drugs.

There have been 16 raids in Peterhead and Fraserburgh, and police confirmed £15,000 of cannabis and £2,000 of heroin had been seized.

Yesterday a team of 60 officers battered down nine doors and arrested four people.

Det Insp Stewart Kidd, who is heading Operation Franklin, said the aim was to make the North-east a hostile environment for drug dealers.

He said: “Grampian Police will continue to target those within our communities who choose to deal and distribute controlled drugs.”
