TWO Aberdeen men have handed themselves in to police probing alleged football hooliganism after the Evening Express revealed officers carried out a string of raids in the North-east.
Another man from Dundee also contacted officers following a string of arrests.
The move means 10 men have now been rounded up as part of British Transport Police’s (BTP) Operation Glazer.
The investigation was launched after a fight involving up to 50 men at Stonehaven train station.
Seven men were arrested in police swoops before the other three handed themselves in.
BTP Insp Bob Cameron said: “After the paper went to print two previously unidentified people from Aberdeen phoned in to give themselves up and have been charged.”
BTP launched Operation Glazer to track down those responsible for the clash, which happened on the day of the Scottish Cup Final.
Officers viewed CCTV footage of the fight on Saturday, May 30, and investigated links to Aberdeen Soccer Casuals and Dundee Utility Crew.
Three men – a 23 and 26-year-old from Kincorth and a 21-year-old from Seaton – were arrested in Aberdeen yesterday and taken to Grampian Police headquarters for questioning.
And officers arrested four men in Dundee – three aged 26, 35 and 38 from Fintry and another, aged 28, from Caird – in connection with the raids.
All 10 men were expected to appear together at Stonehaven Sheriff Court next month.
