MY FRIEND Lisa was visiting from Oz so we needed a wizard treat to make our catch-up night something special
And the Gurkha Kitchen worked its magic with a Nepalese treat at a stunning price – a set menu for two at a mere £19.50.
There were various dishes on offer for starters, from crunchy vegetable pakoras to chicken cooked in fragrant tikka spices. All of it was delicious.
For mains I went for the Gurkha Mango chicken with pilau rice. The sweet mango and coconut sauce was a taste-bud tantaliser, while the chunks of tender chicken breast were so filling.
Lisa went for the Daal Bhat Tarki, a vegetarian dish, with a range of yummy vegetables smothered in spices, which was accompanied by a lentil sauce that she said was just amazing.
No wonder that it was a thumbs up from my pal from Down Under – and from me.
