The Noodlehouse: Rose Street, Aberdeen

ON A beautiful night in Aberdeen, the last thing I wanted to do was watch the last hours of sunlight slip away as I slaved over a hot stove.
So after a stroll through the sun-kissed, city-centre streets, my friend and I popped into The Noodlehouse.
Our first choice of starters, the garlic and mushroom toast, wasn’t available, so we opted to share the crispy vegetarian spring rolls (£2.70) instead.
And with lots of crunchy vegetables, and a warm spicy flavour, they were a tasty appetiser.
Next I opted for diced chicken breast satay with boiled rice (£5.90). On first taste the sauce was thinner than I’d expected and lacked a nutty kick. However, the lashings of chicken and moreish, savoury taste made up for it.
My friend opted for king prawn Siam garlic with noodles (£7.70).
The huge amount of prawns, which were cooked to perfection, pleased her immensely as did the tasty sauce, despite the fact it lacked a defining flavour. The chargrilled-tasting noodles, however, were the best she’s ever tasted.
