Aberdeen roads to close before memorial service

Hundreds expected at Aberdeen church

DRIVERS in Aberdeen were today told a series of road closures will be in place for tomorrow’s helicopter memorial service.

With hundreds of people expected to gather at the Kirk of St Nicholas, Aberdeen council bosses are to introduce several restrictions.

From 6am to 4.30pm, Back Wynd, Gaelic Lane, Little Belmont Street and Belmont Street will be closed.

Correction Wynd, from its junction with St Nicholas Lane to its junction with St Nicholas Street, will also be closed.

From 10am to 4.30pm, Union Street, from its junction with Market Street to its junction with Union Terrace, will also be closed.

Parking, waiting and loading restrictions will also be in place on Union Terrace and Schoolhill/Upperkirkgate, from its junctions with Blackfriars Street and Broad Street.
