I HAD to quickly change supper plans when the marauding horde (he’s a big lad) arrived unexpectedly to watch the football on telly.
And it led to us trying Tien for the first time ... but it definitely won’t be the last.
There was no shortage of juicy pork on our shared portion of Peking spare ribs (£4.20). They were so tasty we instantly agreed to go “sharies” on the other dishes.
Star of the show was the twice-cooked pork (£5.00) – big, juicy and tender slices of pork in a full-of-flavour Hoi Sin sauce, packed with big chunks of fresh oriental vegetables.
The delicious and generous portion of honey roast Moi Tse duck in sweet plum sauce (£5.90), came a close second with the big chunks of succulent chicken in a fragrant and delightfully spicy sauce in our Thai green chicken curry (£5.20) right on its heels for yumminess.
The egg fried rice (two at £2.00) was light and fluffy and not the least bit greasy. Even the chips (£2.00) were “really fine”.
