Nazma Tandoori: Bridge Street, Aberdeen

I’M NOT much of a host. So when a mate comes round to watch a DVD I’m more likely to reach for the takeaway menu than the saucepan.
It’d be great to do a Nigella and dig a homemade chilli from the freezer but, in my world, that ain’t gonna happen.
We started with tandoori vollaile (£3.70) – a whole leg of chicken, which we ripped to shreds and piled high on the edge of our plates.
We weren’t being territorial about our main courses, so they were divided out equally. The lamb karahi (£7.50) was my personal favourite. The lumps of meat were tender enough to be cut with a fork and the sauce of ginger, garlic, onions, tomatoes and coriander pinged with freshness.
I prefer lamb to chicken and that was the only criticism I could level at my mate’s patia chicken (£5.50) – which packed a spicy punch without turning my mouth into a tandoor oven.
So, a stress-free evening – and the only finger I had to lift was to rip apart the naan bread.
