QISMAT: Don Street, Old Aberdeen

HAVING students as mates has many advantages – the main one being their incredible knowledge of local curry houses.
It was their idea to try out Qismat, based up at Hillhead Halls, and I was not disappointed.
One quick phone call and a 30-minute wait later, we had a giant spicy meal on our plates.
I opted for an old favourite – a chicken tikka kasmiri (£6.95), a sweet and succulent dish.
A side portion of saffron pilau rice (£2.30) was simply perfect.
My flatmate chose another well-worn fave, but assured me his butter chicken (£7.25) was excellent.
The mild and smooth tomato sauce complemented the chicken pieces, all gleefully mopped up with a delicious soft warm naan bread (£1.95).
Qismat certainly is one more establishment to add to that ever-growing list.
