Kordoba: George Street, Aberdeen

WE WERE running late for an evening out and frankly in no mood to cook.

Cue Kordoba on George Street – simple food and just a hop, skip and a phone call away.

It serves up a huge range of classic takeaway food but we both opted for their sizeable pizzas.

The pizza bases were a bit doughy for our liking but we were pleased with the ample toppings. Even the smallest pizzas at 10 inches were heaped high.

I opted for the Hot & Spicy (£6), which had liberal helpings of spicy chicken, spicy beef and jalapeno peppers – just a few mouthfuls in and I was well aware of just how hot and spicy it was.

My girlfriend went for the Special (£7.50) which was very tasty, laden with onions, mushrooms, sliced tomato and sweetcorn instead of the usual green peppers.

We also sneaked in a side order of chips (£1.30) to keep us going as we headed out the door.
